Pro-Tips: How to Prepare for Your Mobile Notary Appointment
You’ve booked your appointment with Forward Thinking Services, and we are on our way! To ensure the process is as quick and efficient as possible, there are a few things you can do to prepare. A little preparation goes a long way in making sure your documents are legally binding and processed without delay.
The Golden Rule: Do Not Sign Yet It is the most common mistake clients make. You must sign your documents in the presence of the notary. If you sign them before we arrive, we may have to ask you to print a fresh copy and sign again, or we may have to use a "Jurat" which requires an oath. To keep it simple: wait for us!
Checklist for Success:
Valid Identification: Have an unexpired, government-issued photo ID ready (Driver’s License, Passport, or Military ID).
All Signers Present: Ensure everyone who needs to sign is present and has their ID ready.
Complete the Form (Mostly): Ensure all blanks in the document are filled in except for the signature lines. A notary cannot notarize a document that has empty spaces.
Lighting and Space: Clear a small space on a table and ensure there is enough light for us to read the fine print on your ID and the certificates.
By following these simple steps, we can get your paperwork finalized in minutes, leaving you to get back to what matters most.
